Zoom Security "MUST-DO's"
The documents that are linked and attached to this e-mail are being provided to staff to assist with the implementation of some of the security features associated with Zoom. Many of the security features related to Zoom need to be enabled at the teacher/user level, and the District has already taken the steps needed to implement as many of the system-wide security features that we were able to. Please note that in many cases District staff is not able to address individual student issues/behaviors globally or remotely in Zoom, and that such concerns generally need to be addressed at the classroom or school level.
Best Practices for Securing your Virtual Classroom
The District has also been made aware of several concerns related to students re-naming themselves mid-session and causing disruptions in the virtual classroom setting. The following link is to a quick start guide that directs staff how to disable the ability of students to re-name themselves after entering a digital classroom.
