This year, for the second time, we are participating in the “I Applied/I am College Bound” initiative. If you are unfamiliar with this initiative, the purpose is to increase the number of low-income and first-generation high school students who pursue a post secondary education by inviting them to submit at least one college admission application November 17th with the support of their school and local higher education professionals. For the month of November we will be promoting college awareness through activities such as daily trivia, staff conversations, and application completion opportunities.
Last year we were able to help students submit over 50 applications and are looking to boost our numbers even higher this year!
Seniors need to sign up with Mrs. Lontine no later than November 6th for this event.
Parents: Are you a great baker? Does your employer like giving back to the community? The School Counseling Department through Mrs. Lontine are looking for donations to help sponsor this event. If you would like to donate anything, a (snacks for the students, lunch for the volunteers, or your company can provide a scholarship for a student) please email Mrs. Lontine at klontine@sau56.org.

The Art Department - Artsonia
Artsonia is an online student gallery that Ms. Blanc uses to display student artwork and create student digital portfolios. Students write about their artwork and have “fans” (usually family members and friends). Fans can comment on their work. Items with the students artwork can be purchased through the website and a portion of the cost goes back into the Art Department for purchasing items that we usually run out of at the end of the year.
