Last Chance Yearbook Sale
Great news! If you missed the yearbook sales earlier in the school year, you’re in luck! The 'Last Chance Yearbook Sale' is now through Monday, April 22nd.
Order forms were previously sent home with students - extras are available in the office if you need another one. You can also check out all of the options and pay for your yearbook online by going to ybpay.lifetouch.com and using code10092619. Can’t remember if you already purchased a yearbook or not? You can always call the school office to check.
Arriving or Running late?...
If your child has an appointment or is arriving after 8:55 am, please be sure to sign your student into the office so they can get an admit slip. This is not only a safety measure but also how their attendance gets adjusted for the day.
Please be mindful of the following procedures:
- Only a parent or guardian is allowed to pick up your child from school. Even if that person is listed as an emergency contact. If you need someone to pick up your child from school you will need to submit a signed note or call us to give permission.
- All students need a pickup note if it is not their regular transportation plan on file with the office. Please remember to call the transportation hotline prior to 1:45 pm for notes to be processed, to limit the classroom interruptions and to keep dismissal on time.
- We do our best to get your child to you as soon as possible. However, this is an interruption of class time and we don't call students out of class until you have arrived for pickup.
- If there is an emergency at school or your child is in the health room we will reach out to an emergency contact for pick up only if you are not available.
Change in after school plans?
A note from your bus driver...
Always have a backup plan! Keep your child feeling at ease and the bus driver on time by always having a backup plan. You never know when traffic or other unforeseeable delays will cause you to run late to the bus stop.
Has your child lost a jacket lately? Maybe some gloves? Items get left on the buses quite often and there is no way to identify who they belong to. If you write your child’s name, or even their initials, on their personal belongings there is a better chance of those items being returned the next day! If they think they left it on the bus and it is not there, check the lost and found in the school. Our bus drivers will bring items left on the bus into the school lost and found if no one claims them.
Spring Testing Information
This spring, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students will be taking the Washington
Comprehensive Assessment (WCAP), also known as Smarter Balanced (SBAC). The test measures student progress in math and ELA (English Language Arts), which covers reading and writing. Along with demonstrating these content-area concepts and skills, students will be typing and using online tools, as the SBAC tests are computer adaptive. To prepare, students will practice in these academic areas and receive classroom instruction on how to take the SBAC assessments. In addition to the SBAC, 5th grade students will also take the Science on the computer as well. Families can access the WCAP portal for assessment practice and information. The WCAP website is: wa.portal.airast.org
