Letter from the Principal
Greetings Black Bear Families,
I hope you’ve had a productive week and are as excited for Spring as I am. I know that the wait for your student’s Spring teacher assignment has been stressful. Thank you for your patience in this endeavor. Please know that we’ve done our best to keep your student with their current teacher; however, with each grade level needing at least one 100% online class, we did have to do some well-thought out shifting of students.
On Monday, you will receive your student’s Spring teacher assignment. Whether you continue with 100% online or move to hybrid learning, be assured that we are committed to making your student’s school experience an amazing one! Your student’s new assigned teacher will reach out to you in the coming weeks to get to know you and your student. Please watch for that communication.
Additionally, we will continue to send out updated information concerning the return to school. This communication will include bus lists, instructions for getting your student to and from school safely, how to do a health check at home prior to coming to school, and so much more.

Update to Food Service Routes
Meals are available for ALL children ages 1-18 regardless of income status.
Grab and Go Meal Sites During Online Learning
11:00 AM to 2:00 PM (New ending time)
- Fowler and Hazelbrook Middle School
- Tigard High School
- Tualatin High School
- Templeton Elementary
Delivery Routes - buses will make two rounds of deliveries in case people miss the first delivery time. Routes listed in PDF below will deliver lunch and breakfast
UPDATE:
- Meal pick-up available from 2:00 to 2:30 PM
- at Mary Woodward, Bridgeport, and Metzger Elementary only.
- All other Elementary afternoon pick-up locations have been cancelled.
March PTA Meeting
Please join us for the next PTA meeting, which will take place on Tuesday, March 2, at 7:00 p.m.This meeting will be virtual and can be joined via Google Meet:
If you have any questions for Mr. Kingery or the Board, please provide them in advance so that we can ensure your questions are answered during the meeting. Questions can be emailed to tualatinpta@gmail.com.
Educators: in order to join the google meeting, a personal Gmail account must be used.
Spring Conferences Cancelled
Spring conferences originally scheduled for March 11 and 12 have been cancelled. Those days will be teacher workdays for elementary schools with no school for students.
Although there will not be formal parent/teacher conferences as scheduled, teachers are always willing and happy to talk with you about the progress of your student. We encourage you to reach out to them directly for feedback, questions, or concerns.
Your student’s teacher will reach out to you in the coming weeks to get to know you and your student. Please watch for that communication.
Important Memory Book Dates and Photos Needed
Please note that on March 21st, photo submissions, memory book sales, and 5th grade tribute sales and submissions will close!
Photos needed still:
Art projects
Community outreach (volunteering, recognizing our essential workers, etc.)
Family time
Student photos (does not have to be school related)
Fundraiser photos (take out Tuesdays, auction winnings, etc.)
Mask photos
Music (class or non-class)
Outdoor play

- Please make the email subject as follows: student first and last name, grade level, and teacher name.
Price: Each memory book will be $20, and 5th grade tributes will be $10.
Where To Purchase:
Go to http://www.tualatinelementarypta.org/ and use the “Donate” button on the bottom left hand side of the page for payment.
Pay by Venmo @TualatinElementary-PTA.
Send a check by mail to the school (20405 SW 95th Ave, Tualatin, OR 97062). Write the check out to Tualatin Elementary School PTA.
Please be sure when paying to write in the memo: Memory Book: students teacher, grade level, students first & last name.
The TTSD Book Bus is Rolling
Beginning on March 3rd, TTSD library books will be available for check out and delivery to your neighborhood!
- Complete the form by Sunday
- To request specific titles, visit 121library.org/catalog
- Select your school site and sign in with TTSD Google
- Select the Hold button on titles marked "IN"
- More information here
- On Wednesday, pick up books from the book bus
- Please wear a mask and wait in line 6 ft apart
