1st Day Procedures
We covered a large amount of information on Wednesday in preparation for our face2face students. I appreciate your feedback and flexibility as we work through the logistics of keeping all of us, students, and staff, healthy this year. Please check the duty schedule for the most updated assignments.

Sub Plans....First Off I Apologize...
In order to simplify the process, short-term subs will no longer require access to classroom resources in Canvas. Instead, short term subs will access teacher lesson plans and resources using the Google platform, including Google Meets.
Below are the videos that the sub office will be sharing with the substitutes who pick up a daily job. Substitutes will be instructed that they will receive support from the campus upon arrival and will log on to the teacher’s desk top to a shared file.
Click here for a sample sub landing page. Please develop similar landing pages to provide short-term subs when vacancies pop up.
Due to this I'm going to need everyone place their sub plans and 'landing pages' to be placed in our Park Crest Drive. I created a folder and inside is a folder with each of your names as well as the sample landing page for you to edit and make your own. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1AzdHsvFISzsU7m2AZLxca6HrMPZCfEEz
Due to this change sub plans need to be completed by September 14th. Please don't be out before then. :)
New Attendance Choice!
Starting Tuesday you will have some students in your rooms with you. Any student that chose F2F and is physically present get marked P - Present. If a F2F student is not physically in the room with you, they are marked absent. The official time to submit attendance returns to 10AM beginning Tuesday, September 8.
Remote student attendance remains the same.
You are doing a great job marking your attendance each day. Last week our daily attendance low was 93.14, Friday. Our high was 95.68 on Wednesday. Keep reaching out to students that aren't joining your google meet to ensure they login to Canvas. Let's see if we can get to 95% everyday next week, I know you can do it!
REMINDER - Things to put on your 'to-do' list....
Seating charts:
Don't forget, more info in last week's Smore!
- You must create seating charts for the cafeteria and classroom.
- These are due and need to be posted in your classroom by September 7, 2020 using your current list of students who are attending F2F.
Inter-ST Curriculum Update....news from Jana
Updates from Selena...
👀Starting September 14, ELAR/SLAR lessons will have PA, phonics, and reading every day instead of alternating days.
HMH Information:
*I have posted tutorials and a webinar on the HMH button on the grade-level pages on the ELST Support Page.
Teaching Pal/My Pal
· Students may not have access to the HMH materials online. You may display your online Teaching Pal as you are reading aloud during a synchronous lesson or asynchronous video lesson.
· HMH stories are to be used as mentor texts for reading mini-lessons. Students do not read HMH stories independently. For independent reading and application of the comprehension strategy from the reading mini-lesson, students may self-select texts in MyOn, utilize the local, school library, or choose books from home.
Ways to Assign Books
- Teachers in grades 1-3 can use the PDF version of the texts to link in Canvas. The links have been added to the learning plans.
- Teachers can assign books to students in their Ed accounts.
HMH and Canvas
- Updates are being made to upload HMH into Canvas. We will notify you when this change occurs.
