Cracker Trail Elementary Newsletter
December 2022
From the Principal
Dear Mustang Families,
As we close this semester and 2022, I want to express how wonderful it is to see the effort our students, parents, and staff put into each day! Since we returned to school in August, we have not let any obstacles stop our school from continuing to blaze a trail of educational excellence. The 2nd 9 weeks closes on December 22. We will continue to give our best as we drive into 2023.
Last month’s Veteran’s Day program was wonderful. I want to thank all who attended to celebrate the sacrifices our veterans make for us and our great country. I also want to thank our local VFW Color Guard, Mustang Choir, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Belanger, Mr. Andrew Lethbridge, and our staff & students for
respectfully honoring our community’s veterans.
As discussed previously, our school earned a “B” grade for the 21/22 school year. Our 4th grade teachers and support staff led our students to some of the highest achieving marks in the district. Our 4th grade ELA (English Language Arts) percentage of students meeting proficiency was the HIGHEST among elementary schools in our school district. In math, CTE 4th graders had the HIGHEST percentage among district elementary schools of 4th grade students achieving proficiency. Our percentages in both were above the state average. What an awesome achievement by our 4th graders and all who work with our students. Congratulations!!
Winter Break is coming!! After our early release dismissal on Thursday, December 22, our Mustangs will be out of school from Friday, December 23 to Monday, January 9, 2023. We will return to school on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. We will jump into our usual activities and academics. Please continue to provide the additional support at home and we will do our part on campus. To all of our Cracker Trail families, I hope you are able to spend time with family and friends over the break. On behalf of the staff, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Respectfully,
Mr. Rick Kogelschatz - Principal
