Dear Families,

Today's newsletter includes some exciting Math is Cool news as well as the last call for 8th grade promotion T-Shirts. The latest editions of our student newspaper on video program are also included.

Math is Cool

Our MMS Math is Cool team recently participated in a regional tournament. Donaven DeLeon finished 12th and Leslie Heckler finished 24th out of the 54 particpants. The rest of the team who participated included Josh Cerillo, Kenya Luna, Yahaira Huerta, and Lizjeydi Albarran. Their coach Ms. Cooper is very proud of them the time they took to practice in the mornings before school. "Most of all the students were doing Math and loving it," Ms. Cooper said. "It was exciting to see and hear them solving problems and engaging in mathematical discourse." The MMS team only recently started to meet and next year they plan to come back even stronger!

This Friday is the last day to place orders for an 8th grade promotion T-shirt. The design was voted on by the students and it is a way to commemorate this special year. Please go to for more information.
