We're the consumer perspectives. We're talking about the Athabasca oil sand. We want a development in the future of the oil sands but we're also against the development of the oil sands.
Things you should know about:
The Athabasca oil sands is found in Alberta. It is also called the Alberta oil sands. The Alberta oil sands has the third largest oil reserves in the world. As of 2014, Alberta's oil sands proven reserves were 165 Billion barrels.
The Athabasca Oil sands:

Consumer Perspectives:(Yes)
As a consumer, we would say "Yes" because the development in the future oil sands would make the cost of petrol, fuel, Gas and etc.. cheaper for us. Especially to fill up our vehicles with fuel. If there's no development, the cost of fuels would be variable and depends if Canada's fuel is making profit or No. If we have a development in the future oil sands, Canada would get a lot of Money. Our Taxes would go down of course.
Consumer Perspectives:(NO)
We're also against the development of future oil sands because it destroys our environment. Oil sands are already harming our natural environment and with the development of the future oil sands, it may get worst for our environment. Those pipelines that transport oil from one place to another goes underground and usually goes under farming ground. Imagine if there was an oil spill on the ground!!! What would happen to our farming lands? People that live in the country side with their farms. They rear animals such as cow, goat and horses. Oil pipelines goes under their land. The farmers always scared if the pipeline broke and oil spills underground while their cow etc.. are eating grass. What would happen???
Some ways to make the oil sands more sustainable:
- First, The oil sands owners should take permission or buy the land before using it,
- Second, The pipe lines should be underground and should be more secure so that no accident happens.
- Third, they should try to give their best to protect the environment when extracting the oil.
