From The Principal
Today turned out to be an excellent day for Y1-3 Cross-country. I'm sure everyone who was able to come along would have enjoyed seeing the children smiling right from the start all the way to the finish line!
We clearly have many future athletics stars in the making, but - just as importantly - all the children were able to give it their best shot. Thanks to the teachers and our Sports Coordinator, Karen, for helping prepare the children to rise to the challenge with such positive attitudes.
I'd also like to give a particular 'shout out' to the outstanding Y6 students who ran alongside and encouraged our fledgling athletes. We're really proud of them and the level of patience, care and support they showed, all of which exemplifies the MENPS Touchstones.
Mid-year Reports
Next week, you should receive your child's mid-year report, which will give you an update on how they are progressing towards the end of year level indicators.
As always, it's important to appreciate that learning at this age is not a 'race'. Developmentally, children naturally progress at differing rates, finding their level in their own way over time. The key thing to focus on is effort and progress, which give the best sense of how your child is doing so far this year.
We look forward to seeing families at the Parent Conferences - on this occasion with the students directly involved in sharing aspects of their learning. If you have anything confidential to discuss without your child or others present, please let your child's teacher know in advance, and they will be happy to arrange an opportunity for this with you at a mutually convenient time.
Face-masks are requested for the conferences (even for those who may dispute the science, we ask for this as a courtesy to others and to our staff while we remain at Orange setting). Please also be aware that if a parent does not wear one in the conference, the most likely explanation is that will have notified us of a valid exemption (typically for medical reasons).
We look forward to catching up with you in the final week of Term!

Support our school by eating a delicious Roast at The Bridgman.
Seems too easy but $10 of every kids meal goes directly to our school funds. All you need to do is book your table and put MENPS into the ‘requests’ box and they will donate the profits of your kids meals back to the school.
Easy right?
Just book here - The Bridgman | Corner of Dominion & Valley Roads | Carefully curated food, drinks & cocktails.
