A message from the Superintendent
Weekly Communication

July 26, 2023
Dear PV Families,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying summer. Even though school is not currently in session, there is a vibrant atmosphere on our campus! Our LIFT camps are in full swing, providing exciting learning opportunities for students, and we are delighted to see many others utilizing the facilities and remaining active on campus! Our dedicated staff is actively engaged in various professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge in preparation for the new year, and the Operations team is hard at work cleaning, upgrading, and maintaining our facilities.
As we find ourselves at the midpoint of summer break, I wanted to take the opportunity to provide you with some updates and important information:
- Online Verification (OLV) - the annual process is now accessible via ParentVUE for families of students in grades 1-12. The primary purpose of OLV is to ensure that our student information system maintains accurate and up-to-date information, including demographic details, health-related information, and family contacts. Another benefit of OLV is that it is a completely PAPERLESS process, eliminating the need for distributing physical flyers and forms during the first days of school. Families can conveniently access the information directly through OLV in ParentVUE. NOTE: families will need to complete OLV prior to the release of class assignments and schedules in ParentVUE to ensure access.
- 23-24 Class Assignments & Schedules - will be released the week of August 7, as per the following schedules
- Monday, August 7: Elementary by noon
- Tuesday, August 8: Middle School by noon
- Wednesday, August 9: High School by noon
Important Dates for 23-24 School Year - review our Back to School webpage for dates including the release of bus schedules (8/21/23), upcoming orientation dates, Meet the Teacher evenings, etc.
Attendance Updates - stay tuned for updated communication regarding attendance. Our efforts are to effectively communicate expectations and opportunities for support. We look forward to partnering with you when attendance becomes a challenge for your child.
Board Meeting Executive Summaries - Coming Soon! After each Board meeting, there are two per month, we will share an executive summary of the outcomes.
PV Engage! - Coming soon also! Look for a series of brief videos to inform parents and community of various aspects of our students' school experience.
Boosters Meeting - Mr. Weaver, Business Administrator, has scheduled the annual required meeting with booster club and support organization officers. The meeting will take place on August 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Library.
As always, your support is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to assist you in any way we can. Until the next communication (August 9), enjoy summer!
Sincerely,
Dr. Barbara A. Russell
