Student Safety- Morning Drop Off
If you drop off your student in the mornings and they are being dropped off in the street, students must walk on the sidewalk and not cut through the grass and walk through the parking lot. It is hard to see small children, and we want our students to be safe! It is safest to stay in the car line and drop your students off where staff and safety patrol can assist students getting out of the cars.
Healthy Tips from Coach Bearden
Sleep is a vital, often neglected, component of every person's overall health and well-being. Sleep is important because it enables the body to repair and be fit and ready for another day. Getting adequate rest may also help prevent excess weight gain, heart disease, and increased illness duration.
Per the CDC:
Adequate sleep contributes to a student’s overall health and well-being. Students should get the proper amount of sleep at night to help stay focused, improve concentration, and improve academic performance.
Children and adolescents who do not get enough sleep have a higher risk for many health problems, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, poor mental health, and injuries. They are also more likely to have attention and behavior problems, which can contribute to poor academic performance in school.
