At George Elementary we are committed to making sure that ALL George Giants grow to their full potential through an equitable learning environment that meets the needs of the whole child.

• Our school day is from 7:45-3:10. All students should be at school by 7:45.
• Seven absences in a semester are considered as excessive. Excused absences include medical or legal absences. You must have a note for illness absences to be excused.
• Please call the office for every absence, whether it will be excused or not. Teachers do not record the information for absence excuses, the office does. It's very important that parents and the office staff communicate about absences.
• Excessive absences can be referred to state or local authorities. Please help to avoid this by communicating with the office about absences.

• If you're interested in being involved in our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) leadership, we have a meeting on Monday, October 10, at 5:00.
  
• If you are interested in volunteering at school, please schedule a meeting with Heather Miller, Instructional Facilitator, at hmiller@sdale.org.
• Springdale Family Literacy Program (SFLP) is a free program for parents to learn English from an adult educator here at George Elementary. Our program is on Monday-Tuesday in the afternoons. For more information email Megan Porter (mporter@sdale.org) or Deanna Self (dself@sdale.org).
