What's Going on in the Library?

After listening to two of Aaron Reynold's frighteningly fun picture books, Creepy Carrots and Creepy Pair of Underwear, students made their own creepy items to help decorate the library.

STEAM Centers in the Library!

Students this week enjoyed STEAM centers with a pumpkin theme.

3D Printing is here!

Our 3D printer is up and running and students are excited about the possibilities of what they can create in the library! Older grades will be learning how to design objects in Tinkercad, a free, easy-to-use app for 3D design, electronics, and coding.

On Tuesday, November 12th, NWC will be hosting a STEAM night from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Students who come to the library will be able to learn more about 3D printing and have a chance to win some 3D printed items.

Resource of the Month- CultureGrams: Your portal to countries around the world

CultureGrams is a wonderful interactive tool to learn more about the 200+ countries around the world. If your child needs to learn more about a country or another culture, this is a highly recommended resource. Not only does this database include comprehensive information such as historical timelines, cultural history, population, etc., students may also find photo galleries, slideshows, video clips, famous people collections, interviews, recipes, fun facts, and "Life as a Kid" on this site.
