Blackburn Leadership Day Invitation
What Will We Be Learning This Week?
Math
I am pleased with the students' progress with fractions. It is important that students gain a strong conceptual understanding of fractions prior to advancing to 5th grade. As we progress into more advanced skills (Adding and Subtracting Mixed Numbers with renaming Improper Fractions, Multiplying Fractions, etc...) students will be asked to solve problems applying these skills.
Science
We will continue our unit on Rocks and Minerals next week. We took a bit of a detour this week as a result of student interest. We looked at the three different types of rocks (Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary) and talked about how they are formed. Students enjoyed studying the Rock Cycle and identifying what types of rocks we have in our science kit.
