Volunteers
I held a meeting for volunteers last week. I met with 6 volunteers and heard from another 3 who could not attend due to other obligations. You may reach out to them to have them start volunteering in your classroom. This is a great opportunity to have folks work with small groups, work 1-1 with a student or two, create materials (cutting, laminating, etc) that you might need for an upcoming lesson/project. The possibilities are endless! The goal that we discussed Back to School week is to have every classroom have at least 1 volunteer this school year.
Potential Must Do for students who are Emerging Bilinguals
There are 2 great technology opportunities coming to you tomorrow and next Monday that are wonderful options for not only small group learning, but also Must Do/May Do: Flipgrid and Nearpod. I hope you are able to take advantage of one or both sessions. Both of these offer accountability pieces that we are always looking for, ways to actively engage students, and opportunities for students to think critically as well as share their thinking. I am excited to learn more! I hope you are too!
WIN time
Thank you to everyone for meeting to help establish our WIN groups. Great discussions continued to happen as we created groups to best support our students. WIN groups based on those discussions should be in full swing starting tomorrow, Monday, October 7th. We will meet again in about 6 weeks to determine if changes needed to be made to our instructional groups.

PBIS corner
The Tier 1 team met on Friday. We had a total of 35 Behavior Incident Referrals at the time of our meeting. Here is our precision statement based on the data:
We have 15 incidents of disruptive behavior and 11 incidents of disrespectful behavior occurring in both the classroom (13) and the lunchroom (13) with the highest number occurring on Fridays and the rest of the week being pretty even.
Please work with your classrooms to reteach expectations in the two areas. I will be sure to send you a message if there are referrals from the lunchroom to be sure that you are aware. I will also remind the lunchroom folks to let you know so that you can address the concern
