Students of the Month:

English - Kate Sutphen is dedicated to her work and contributes often and meaningfully in class. Her analysis of texts is very insightful. She is also an avid reader who is always excited about reading and has started to take a leadership role in the SHS book club. She plans on taking over and running it next year when the current seniors graduate. She's also positive and bright and makes everyone smile.

Math - Myles Williams is a hard working Geometry student who always provides a unique perspective on the content covered in class. He goes above and beyond and always puts in 110%. Myles strives to be a better student each day. He is always willing to lend a classmate a hand and is kind to everyone who he crosses paths with. Myles' positive attitude and smile are contagious.

Science - Abigail Blochinger is a focused student who asks questions and persists with challenging material. She is organized, polite, and conscientious. She follows procedures well in labs and collects and analyzes data carefully.

World Language - Kylie Klinck has a great attitude towards learning. In her recent presentation of "Mein Leben in Bildern" she radiated joy while standing in front of the class telling us all about the different milestones in her life, from baby age to now, sharing many pictures with us. Kylie is also considerate of others, she always makes sure that everyone is included.

History - Surekha Selvaraj is constantly challenging herself to explore the AP Economics content within and outside of class time. She often asks meaningful questions and is able to explain complicated economics principles to the class. Her analysis and interest enhances the class.

TCC - Gianna Ramieri has been a creative force in video production 2. She has excelled in video editing as well as create interesting pieces that have been featured on the Sparta Scoop. She is always willing to go the extra mile to help her fellow peers when working on group projects. She encompasses everything that represents Sparta Pride!

Music - Julianne Handzus is a very involved member of both the Orchestra and Choir programs. She is in Philhamonic Orchestra, Honors Choir, Strings Club, Chamber Club, Women’s Choir, Sparta Sirens, Shacappella, and has recently been selected for the NJMEA Region 1 Jazz Choir. She also was recently featured as a “mer-sister” in “The Little Mermaid” and is volunteering to sing at the benefit concert at SHS. She is a talented musician who puts in 100% time and effort into everything she does.

Art - Milena Oberle is junior in Advanced Sculpture and has emerged as a truly dedicated sculptor! Her work is always above and beyond anything I ask...she strives for the wow factor and pushes to become better at whatever she is doing. She is often seen in my room not only during our class, but during lunch and her study hall, working on her wonderful sculptures! Her dedication is inspirational! I can't wait to see what she does in AP next year!

Physical Education - Bella Frattura has averaged an A+ in PE this year. Not only does she show up for class prepared for PE everyday, she has a positive attitude and is always willing to try new things. She demonstrates leadership in class by excelling at daily objectives and always looks out for her classmates. When students were asked to partner up for badminton, rather than choose to partner with a friend, she approached me and asked me if there were any students who were having trouble finding a partner that she would partner with.
