Chester Elementary School

Dear CES Family,

So, it's happening: we are finally making the move into the new office space! Beginning next Monday, April 24th, two things will be new: the CES office will officially be in the new space in the front of the school and will be using the new entryway! Please follow the same drop-off protocols by pulling as far forward as possible when dropping students off and also picking them up. Also, when visitors or parents arrive on campus now, you will notice that there is a digital doorbell to the left of the main door. When the button is pressed, the staff in the office will buzz you in once you have been identified via an entryway camera. This will take some getting used to, but it is certainly a step towards a safer campus.

Another change for students: once students arrive on campus in the morning, they need to be either in the cafeteria eating breakfast or out on the playground and not wandering the halls. Additional staff is on hand to help facilitate this. A reminder that students are not to show up on campus prior to 7:45.

On a related note: our cafeteria is now fully up and running! We are cooking meals on site and the students are enjoying the improved quality of the food. Thanks to all of you for hanging in there with us the past few months as we have experienced a lengthy construction process.

Here it is: the April edition of the Mountain Kid Messenger. This got lost in the shuffle prior to the Easter vacation, but that doesn't mean that it's any less worth reading! Great information about what our students are learning regarding outdoor education, but also great information that loves the outdoors. Enjoy!

We are hiring! CES has an amazing educational team. We have been very fortunate to hire some great staff recently, but we still have immediate openings for the following positions:

• Nurse/LVN (full time, Chester/Greenville)
• English Learner aide (2 hrs./day)
• Paraeducator/Transportation Driver (7.5 hrs./day)
