The Care For the Dogs
- Tierd/injured dogs go to the vet at the checkpoints then get returned at another checkpoint
- Mushers have to feed and take care of the dogs
- Owners keep the dogs from getting frostbite
- Mushers use blankets from getting to much cold exposure

- The iditarod does sprints from Willow Yenta Station (42 miles)
- Iditarod can be up to 998 miles (Willow to Nome)
- Have to run from 10 to 16 days
- Race is 500 to 1,170 miles
