Word From The Woods
Bishop Woods School Newsletter - 2.14.21
Greetings Bishop Woods Families,
Happy Valentine's Day to all of you! Thank you for all of the love and support you have shown through these difficult times.
This week is February break! Please note that our break is shortened this year. There will be no classes on Monday, February 15th, in honor of President's Day and Susan B. Anthony Day, or on Tuesday, February 16th. We will resume our hybrid schedule on Wednesday, February 17th. (Remember that every Wednesday all students are full remote, and should log in to homeroom at 8:45am.)
If you have not done so already, please check out the district’s video that is part of the #NHPSWeConnect campaign! Our Bishop Woods students and staff are represented throughout this presentation!

If your child is an in person learner, and your family is traveling over the break, you MUST follow the State of CT's travel advisory. Please note that if you travel outside of the country or if you visit any state other than New York, New Jersey, or Rhode Island, you must self-quarantine for 10 days upon return to CT, or select the Covid testing alternative. Details are available at the following link: https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/Office-of-the-Governor/Executive-Orders/Lamont-Executive-Orders/Executive-Order-No-9S.pdf
Although there will be no school on Tuesday, breakfast and lunch distribution will still take place at all New Haven Public Schools from 11-1.
Lastly, please be reminded that we are running two fundraisers that we need your support with! The pie & cookie dough fundraiser money is DUE THIS FRIDAY, February 19th and the Elm City Market fundraiser will take place THIS SATURDAY, February 20th. Please be sure to share this information with family and friends! More information is provided below.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you need anything.
Enjoy the extra-long weekend!

Community Learning Hubs
Community Learning Hubs are safe spaces for children to go during the school day for supervised distance learning with high-speed internet access, social support, and enrichment, in a small cohort of no more than ten children. Children eligible to attend a Hub must be New Haven residents in 1st through 9th grades, registered for the New Haven Public Schools, and demonstrate high need. Space is extremely limited and families with the greatest need will receive priority, so if you are interested, apply ASAP. There is no cost to families.
