FIVE MORE DAYS!
Hang in there folks! 5 more days until Spring Break, but who's counting? I know everyone is definitely counting.
This week we have full staff meeting scheduled on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 for all staff. We are fortunate to have our Chief of Schools, Rashard Wright coming to kick off the meeting for us. He is probably the most upbeat, motivating leader our school division has every had. His message will be reminding us of our "WHY". Why do we do what we do? At this time of year, motivation can be lacking a little bit among teachers and staff. We have a HARD job and even though we are winding down, there is extremely important work to do until 12:00 on June 17th! The support staff will be asked to stay for the first 15 minutes to hear Rashard's message.
Following that, we will have some brief share outs from our teachers concerning their visits to other schools. This professional learning has been very powerful and the implementation results are positive! We will also refresh and remind about the STEAM Expo and the expectations for all of us as that is taking place on April 21st. Suzanne and Brianna will be sharing the theme and project focus regarding Water Conservation that grade 5 has been researching. The high level thinking going into these design challenges is just inspiring.
In addition, Shawn McArdle will be giving an overview of his learning and experience on his TenMarks trip to Boston. This was a big deal because the company tagged him and paid for his entire trip. During Math collaborations on the 23rd, he will be sharing specifics with all Math teachers on targeted ways to use the TenMarks program and yield the best benefits.
Thank you to everyone for all you are doing to keep students focused and on task. The time change has been tough for all, but your smiles and determination are greatly appreciated!
Have a great weekend,
Beth
