Tik Tok Challenge - Parents, please read.

A recent topic trending among children and teens on TikTok is called “Devious Licks” where students are encouraged to damage or steal things from their local schools, or potentially harm other students and staff members.

We have already had incidents of stolen items and vandalism that mimics the popular TikTok trend. Not only is this posing a disruption to the learning process for our students, but it’s also causing detrimental damage to our local and state-funded facilities.

This behavior will not be tolerated and will be dealt with accordingly. Destruction of school property will result in school discipline along with paying restitution for property that has been damaged or destroyed, and possibly being criminally charged by our local police or sheriff’s department.

We urge you as the parent or guardian to speak with your child about appropriate behavior in social situations, and how poor decisions now can impact their future. We want nothing more than our students and staff to take pride in our school and respect each other and their learning environment.

Thank you for your support!

PSATs for Sophomores and Juniors

Additionally, students who are intending to go to college will have score report information that enables them to focus on areas necessary for success on the SAT.

● Sophomores and Juniors will be taking the PSAT that day.

● Freshmen will be going on a tour of the Blue River Career Center.

● Seniors will be doing career and college preparation activities.

All students will go to their first period class that day for attendance and then go to their

Illness During the School Day

Students, if you start feeling ill during the school day, you MUST to go to the clinic for evaluation and STAFF needs to contact your parents. Students may NOT text their parent to come in and pick them up. Please make sure you are following the proper procedures.

Student Quarantine Expectations

Unfortunately, we are still dealing with COVID and student quarantines. We are doing our best to ensure that students aren't falling behind while they are in quarantine. Here is what is expected of students that are in quarantine that aren't too sick to participate:

  • Attend each class period through Google Meets
  • Visit Google Classroom throughout the day to communicate with teachers and complete assignments.
  • Please communicate with your teachers when you have questions.

SHS Lunchroom Sign In Expectation

Students, please make sure that you are signing in to lunch every day by scanning the QR code on your table and that you are practicing social distancing. This is very important for contact tracing purposes.

SHS and SMS Backpack Expectations

Students are not to carry book bags, oversized cinch sacks, large purses or like items from class to class. These items are to remain in the student lockers for security and safety reasons. Purses, small satchels or mini cinch bags no bigger than the size of an iPad will be permitted in class. These items must be kept on the corner of the student's desk, hanging from the desk's chair, or in a teacher-designated location in the classroom.

SMS and SHS students will still be allowed to bring backpacks to school. The expectation will be for students to store their backpacks in their lockers throughout the day.

Attention Bus Riders ~ Mask Mandate

Masks are mandated for all public transportation, which includes SCS busses. Masks must be warn at all times while being transported to and from school. Also, water bottles are no longer allowed on the buses. Thank you for your cooperation!
