Mrs. Summers' Newsletter

April 29, 2016

Its Been a Great Week!

We've had a great week. We worked on finishing our second fairy tale adaptation adding language to paint a beautiful picture. In reading, we started The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. We are working on constructing meaningful discussion questions. In science, we started Veggie U. We are hoping to see some plant growth next week. In math, the second graders worked on constructing parachutes for Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. We had fun doing our time trials and redesigning our parachutes. We also worked on sketching our Dream House.

Things to Look Forward to Next Week!

We will start revising our fairy tale adaptation, so we can put it into our very own Bare Book. In reading, we will continue The Wonderful Wizard of OZ. In science, we will continue our Veggie U unit, looking at plant parts and observing our different plants. In math the second graders will be reviewing key concepts from the year.

We are going to be starting writing our fairy tale adaptations in Bare Books soon. Please send in the $3 if you can to help offset the cost of these. There stories are AMAZING! I am so thankful we are able to publish them in a "fancy" book, so everyone can treasure it forever.

Today we listened to Some of the kids wanted me to put it in the newsletter so they could listen at home. :)

If your child has any exciting news to share - winner of a competition, getting a certain color belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, etc., please send me a picture. I would love to feature them in my newsletter. :)
