PARENTS! - Volunteer Information & CLEARANCES

PARENTS: If you want to attend CB FIELD TRIPS, you MUST have clearances now. So be sure to get on the “The List” for Barclay (and CB). In fact, if you want to volunteer in ANY CB school for the NEXT FIVE years, then you need to be certified to volunteer as directed by the state. Here are some details:

Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child’s welfare or has direct volunteer contact with children.

· Direct Volunteer Contact – The care, supervision, guidance, or control of children and routine interaction with children

· Routine Interaction – Regular and repeated contact that is integral to a person’s volunteer responsibilities.

· Person Responsible for Child’s Welfare –Includes any such person who has direct or regular contact with a child through any program, activity, or service sponsored by a school, for-profit organization or religious or other not for profit organization.

· A volunteer who was previously not required to have clearances shall be required to obtain the clearances required by law no later than July 1, 2016.

PDE Updates

Dear parents:

The Central Bucks School District is very proud of the highly qualified teachers who work with students each day. All of the teachers in your child’s school have met the requirements set by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) to be considered highly qualified.

The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 gives parents of children who attend schools receiving Title 1 funding the right to request information about the qualifications of their child’s teacher. Your child’s school receives federal funding through the Title 1 program and information about the qualifications of your child’s teacher is available upon request.

In addition, if your child receives assistance in reading or mathematics through the Title 1 program, you may request verification that the Title 1 instructional assistant who works with your child meets the requirements to be highly qualified. All of our Title 1 instructional assistants have met these requirements.

Please contact me if you would like to receive information to verify the qualifications of your child’s teacher or Title 1 instructional assistant.
