Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS

Tamanend hosted the CBSD musical showcase, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. All three high schools and five middle schools performed their big "showstopper" numbers from their spring musicals to help raise money for AIDS research. We witnessed incredible CB students using their talents in the service of others... AMAZING! Stay tuned--when the totals raised are calculated, we will share via Twitter, Facebook and our webpage.

Second marking period is often the most challenging for students. The honeymoon of the new school year has worn off. Activities, holidays, and content go into full swing. Unpredictable weather closings and interruptions throw us out of our groove. HOWEVER, we are SO PROUD of our students for their focus on learning and work! Overall, the percentage of our students receiving honors for the 2nd marking period remained above 80%... that is incredible! Way to demonstrate...

Superintendent Parent Advisory Council Service Project

As a school and district we are committed to service in our community. For the month of February, all CB schools will support the Superintendent's Parent Advisory Council service project to assist non-profit organizations within our local community: A Woman's Place, gardens for local area nursing homes, and the Middle School Relay for Life. To that end, each school in our district will be collecting spare change. Tamanend's "spare change" container is located in our Main Office.

Throughout the year, Tamanend staff members look for examples of students showing Respect, Achievement, and Responsibility... R.oA.R. Those students are given "Tiger Tracks" tickets which students can enter into a drawing. Each Friday, Mr. Boyle draws one student's Tiger Track and announces the winner on our Tamanend Today Show. The winner can pick from a number of prizes including great coupons from Subway, Rita's, Randazzo's, Yogurt Tree, and Moe's!

The following students were recent weekly winners!
