Saying Goodbye at the door , steps toward first grade
The time has come! Your children will be transitioning into either Kindergarten or 1st grade right after the summer. If you have not done so already, please establish a routine and loving ritual of saying goodbye at the classroom door so that your child will be able to transition much easier next year. Of course, if you need to tell either Aram or I something important please don't hesitate to peek your head in or come in for a minute or two. : - )
Pick Up
For safety reasons we kindly ask that you use the school drive through for pick up if you are able to. Your children should have a set routine by now of gathering water bottles, coats, and other items. We will make sure that your little one is ready to go by 3 pm for a smooth pick up. Please do not get out of your car when using the drive through pick up. A teacher will escort each student safely to the car. If you have questions about how this works please let me know. If you are walking or biking to school and coming to pick your little one up please encourage your child to stay safe by sitting on the benches until you are ready to leave. Thanks for your help to keep it safe!
On Time
A gentle reminder that instruction begins each day at 8:45 am. School starts at 8:30 am.
Back to our routine!
We will resume partner reading and sharing on Tuesdays.
A separate schedule will be sent for the new sharing schedule.
Our specialty classes: singing and Spanish will also resume.
Please look carefully at our calendar for April. Please note: If you want to participate in your child's school experience you may come any Friday morning for our all school morning circle in the sanctuary. This is a wonderful way of staying connected to the school family. Start time for all school circle is 9 am each Friday.
Please email me if you have questions, feedback, or concerns. I try to respond to all emails in a timely manner
Happy Spring!

What's next?
Poetry reading and writing
What is a poem? will be one of our weekly brainstorms.
We will tidy up some of our previous writer's studio stories and write a few new ones. Something to look forward to reading in this year's LWS literary magazine!
Every day is Earth Day!
Our Science curriculum will bring together learning about Environmental Stewardship, Songs about Nature, and Earth Science. We have been discussing how to care for the Earth all year long. However, we will begin to go into greater depth now for the Spring Term. Also, as promised we will continue to learn a little about a new animal each week on Thursdays.
Books, Books, Books
We have a wonderful collection of books that was gifted to our classroom last Dec/January. Thank you all for your contributions to our class library. This is the time of year that we will begin to read these wonderful stories together!
