5 Things you may not know about... Mrs. Machado
She graduated from Bridgewater State and was the first person in her family to graduate from college.
She is one of the few original Carver Middle High School staff members.
She began her teaching career in 1987 when the school opened.
She and her husband have three children and live in Plymouth. She has lived in Plymouth her whole life.
She collects Mickey Mouse memorabilia and even has a vintage Mickey Mouse telephone.

National Honors Society
Congratulations to the 18 new members of Carver NHS. Students, parents, faculty and administration participated in the induction ceremony on Wednesday evening in the auditorium. Can't wait to get started on our new community service projects for 2020!

Our high school World of Difference Peer Leaders have been busy teaching lessons about identify, diversity and kindness to our 6th grade students.
The Dragons team received "On a Roll" awards on Wednesday before Thanksgiving break.
Slam Poetry's annual bake sale, featuring Hadi Kishbach's outstanding turkey cupcakes! We are raising money to go on a field trip to a poetry workshop!
After a Holocaust presentation, Mrs. Reardon's 6th graders shared how an actual victim's life was impacted.
Mrs. Carter's Block 7 and Block 1 classes were working on the Triple Activity. Students were practicing simplifying expressions by distributing and combining like terms. There were 30 cards in which there were 10 sets of three cards with the same answer.
The class of 2019 returned to CMHS to share their advice with Class of 2020 during Alumni Breakfast!
In Mrs. Cornock's Chemistry this week the students classified unknown substances as having metallic, ionic or covalent bonds based on their different properties.
Malu Souza celebrated her year anniversary in the United States! She was born in Brockton but her family soon moved back to Brazil when she was 3. Last year, she made the brave decision to return to the U.S. to live with her aunt and uncle and start her U.S. education. From walking in the door a year ago with no understanding of English, Malu has come along way! Keep up the great work, Malu!!

WREATHS ACROSS CARVER
As a Community Service Project
the Carver Middle High School Captain’s Council is working with a Veterans Group from the Town of Carver to collect 266 wreaths to be placed on EVERY Veteran’s grave in Carver for the Holiday Season.
Our goal is to collect wreaths or donations to purchase wreaths so on December 7, 2019 (Pearl Harbor Day) all of the 266 graves will have a wreath on it to show they are not forgotten.

PEP RALLY
Student Council hosted an awesome White-Out Pep Rally before Thanksgiving! Students enjoyed the many fun games designed to unify the student body. Thanks to all the students who cheered for their friends, and to those brave students who participated in the games!

The Caring Crusaders are looking for new members to join the club! They are a student-led group who strive to end underage drinking. They work as a team to spread awareness on the dangers of substance abuse and addiction throughout the Carver schools and community.
