The Parent Rebel Review
Week 36: May 23-29
Principal's Message
One of my very good friends is known among our group to celebrate each one of our successes with great enthusiasm. Heβs the guy whoβs first to call us to congratulate us and to organize a celebratory dinner on our behalf. His attitude is always super-positive, and he celebrates our victories as his own. He is always saying to us, "when one of us wins, we ALL win." What an example--how I strive to be more like this friend, building others up!
Over the past 40 weeks, Iβve been a witness to his belief as Iβve witnessed the RMS Family cheer on our TOP 5 Secondary Teacher of the year, our Robotics Teams to Worlds, our Athletic District Championships, and our Spanish and UIL Academic TOP 3 finishes. We have celebrated everything from birthdays to even minor gains in academic growthβall together as one team with one goal.
Again, this past weekend I was reminded that when ONE wins, we ALL win, as I saw our 4 Special Olympic Stars compete in the Special Olympics. I saw a FAMILY come together to grill delicious food, set up shaded tents, take chairs, bring plentiful snacks, coach our athletes, organize a Parade of Champions and celebrate all of their finishes on Saturday. We are truly ONE family. Celebrate each other. Letβs finish these next 14 days strong by having each otherβs backs. Remember, βwhen one of us wins, we ALL win.β Continue cheering for and building each other up! Iβm proud of us! Two more weeks. Letβs finish this, Rebels!
KUDOS Corner!
"Thank you so much to ALL the volunteers who made the Special Olympics special."
"Great job, Mr. Bustos on organizing ALL our STAAR tests this school year! Everything ran smoothly. Thanks for the burritos"
"Ms. Chavez is an amazing substitute teacher. She demonstrates a great work ethic in the sense that whatever content she is covering she gives it her all. She cares about the kids. I am always relieved when Ms. Chavez covers my classes because I know I can trust she will step into my class as a teacher and do what she can for learning to continue. We are blessed to have her!"
"I want to acknowledge all of our campus 1st and 2nd-year teachers. New teachers are always told that the first year of teaching is probably the hardest and maybe that's true. However these past 2 years have not even been the "normal" difficult, they have been a very trying time in education for all of us but YOU have made it to the end. You stuck to it! You all have contributed to the success of our kiddos. You should be proud. Your fresh ideas and enthusiasm and your being HERE #fortheValley make me excited for the future of our campus."
