Please Practice Patience, Positivity, and Kindness
Fears & Tears
From our many years of experience, we know that adjusting to school is exciting for some and terrifying for others. Separating from parents/guardians is not always easy and some days are better than others. Luckily, we are well prepared to address the tears and fears of our Cheetahs.
As a parent, you also play a part in the success of your child. Please continue to take a positive approach to solving problems and handling stressful situations. Your child is watching your every move!
At Croce, we set up our students for success by communicating clear expectations and allowing multiple opportunities to practice. Developing independence takes time. So during the first few weeks of school, it is not uncommon to see students explicitly practicing how to transition from one place to another, stand in a line, use materials appropriately, open their snacks/lunch, and develop friendships.
We know from experience that even our youngest Cheetahs are capable of accomplishing many tasks independently if given the opportunity to practice, fail, and practice some more. My guess is that sometime within the next month or so, you will notice that your child’s anxiety level is lower and their confidence continues to grow as they realize what they are capable of.
Please have faith in our staff members as we prepare your child for a successful academic career.
Back to School Night

6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Presentations in 3rd-5th grade classrooms
6:35 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Welcome from Principal Angelo and PTA
7:05 p.m. - 7:35 p.m. Presentations in TK-2nd grade classrooms
Most presentations will allow for some Q&A time, but if you have questions/concerns specific to your child please make an appointment with your child's teacher.
Pick-Up Protocols
Thank you for completing the pick-up form that was sent to your last week. This allows us to guide your child to the correct gate at the end of the day. We understand that emergencies arise and if you find it necessary to pick up your child in a different location from time to time, please contact the school office so we can relay the message to your child and the teacher.
Our decision to have students picked up outside the gates comes from an abundance of caution in this ever changing world we live in and we appreciate your support and understanding.
TK and Kindergarten students are dismissed from one of two gates at the front of the school. Mrs. Kramar and Ms. Ravizza will dismiss the students from the main Kindergarten gate. Mrs. Rogers and Ms. Gibb will dismiss from the gate closest to the office. Students using valet, meeting daycare transportation, or attending ESS will be escorted to their designated location by a staff member. Please note that the Crestmont gate is ONLY an option for our TK/K students on Wednesdays. We do not have supervisors available on any other day.
Middle School Siblings
For the families that live in the Crestmont area, the younger siblings will walk to the Crestmont gate to meet the middle schooler.
Please remind your middle school children that the Crestmont gate will be locked at 1:50 p.m. on Wednesdays and 3:00 p.m. every other day of the week. This should allow plenty of time for the CMS students to arrive.
School Calendar
Keep in mind that contracts should be requested through the school office at least two weeks prior to your departure to give our teachers enough time to prepare your child's materials.
UPDATE: Universal Lunch & Breakfast
Breakfast will be served in the MPR from 8:00 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. To drop-off your child for breakfast, please pull up along the curb on Scenic Ave. Your child will be able to enter through the backdoor of the MPR anytime between 8:00 a.m. - 8:15 p.m.
All students have the option to eat a school lunch complete with entree, fruit or vegetable, and a milk. To ensure that we have enough meals, students are asked to pre-order lunch through their teacher the day before.
Bedtime Story with Principal Angelo
Please join Mrs. Angelo on Sunday, August 28th at 6:16 p.m. for a Bedtime Story with Principal Angelo. The link to the story will be sent via email and text from Blackboard.
