PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
As the school year draws to a close, I want to express my gratitude and admiration for all the hardworking educators out there. It's been a challenging journey, but your dedication and effort have not gone unnoticed. I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your achievements and celebrate your successes. And don't forget to treat yourself to a refreshing glass of milk- you deserve it!
This year has been an enlightening experience for me. I've been involved with ATA for a while now, but I've gained a much deeper understanding of our Association. I'm grateful for the support and guidance I've received from everyone, and I'm excited to start planning for the future. It's clear that if we want to continue growing as an Association, we need to focus on educating and training our members. That's why the ATA Board of Directors will be focusing on member engagement and organization over the summer. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.
Active participation in our association is crucial. As educators, we all share the common goal of providing the best possible education for our students. However, this goal cannot be achieved without the engagement of all members. Our organization thrives on your input and voice. The more members get involved, the easier it will be to make a real difference in the lives of our students and our profession. ATA has something for everybody, so don't hesitate to get involved and make a positive impact.
Ralph Hernandez
ATA President
WHY I BELONG TO ATA
AUSD AWARDED SIX COMMUNITY SCHOOL IMPLEMENTATION GRANTS
It brings me great pleasure to inform you that AUSD has been granted a total of six implementation grants for Community Schools. I am pleased to share that Granada, Marguerita, Northrup, Ramona, Ynez, and San Gabriel High School are the recipients of these grants. With these grants, our schools will now be able to prioritize career education and community partnerships, foster civic participation, offer parent education, and address community issues - all while paying attention to the holistic development of our students. I am confident that these grants will positively impact our students and families, and I eagerly anticipate the transformative changes they will bring about.

MOVIES IN THE PARK - FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY
We have received an excellent opportunity from the City of Alhambra to sell drinks and snacks at their Saturday Movies in the Park during July. By doing so, ATA members can be more involved in supporting student or community causes/needs. To make this happen, we need enough people to sign up, and all we need is for people to help with one event (unless you'd like to help with more). We will be selling simple pre-packed snacks/treats and drinks.
If you're interested in volunteering, please email Tammy at tammyscorcia@gmail.com or text 626-533-7534 with the date you're available. This is also open to volunteers who help us raise money to support our community. Please specify the amount of time you're able to help.
Here are the dates and movies for the event:
JULY 1st: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm: Turning Red (kids concert)
JULY 8th: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm: The Princess and the Frog (mardi gras night and characters)
JULY 15th: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm: Zootopia (live animal show)
JULY 22nd: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm: Frozen 2 (snow party with Anna and Elsa)
