CDC Signs Off On COVID Vaccine for Ages 5-11
Tonight, the Director of the CDC endorsed the recommendation for 5-11 year olds to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. You can read the CDC's media release here.
As many of you know, all spots offered in the COVID-19 vaccine clinic that DPS 109 is offering through Passport Health filled up yesterday in a matter of minutes. We appreciate your patience as we know many of you invested time and energy into that process. At this time, we are NOT anticipating being able to offer any vaccination slots prior to November 18th.
We know many of you may seek opportunities to get your child vaccinated BEFORE our clinic is set to take place. If you got an appointment at our clinic and end up finding other options, PLEASE cancel your appointment with us as soon as possible. The last thing we want to have are wasted opportunities for other families and students to be vaccinated. There are instructions on canceling your appointment in the confirmation email you received from Passport Health.
For those that wanted appointments but didn't get one:
-Check with your pediatrician or pharmacy to see if they have vaccination opportunities. There is a high likelihood that there will be chances for you to have your child vaccinated before our clinic is even held.
-Keep the link from yesterday and check back. As people get appointments elsewhere, they may drop their appointment, at which point it will open up for others.
