Lander Elementary Friday Newsletter
Friday, January 27, 2023
Lander Families,
It was nice to experience a little “heat wave” this week, but Mother Nature did not help us much with the rain. Our students are being so patient with consecutive days of indoor recess, but they are certainly ready to be able to get outside.
We had another Student of the Month and Kindness Kid breakfast celebration for our December & January recipients. We are so proud of the students who have been recognized so far this school year as well as our students who demonstrate the qualities of the 4 P’s. During our celebratory breakfast, some of our students communicated they were chosen for the following reasons; being a good friend and always helping others, following the 4 P’s, sticking up for a friend, and being a good leader. We are so proud of all of you.
In addition, we also got to celebrate our AVIS winners from this quarter. AVIS stands for Attitudes Visible in School and is sponsored by Academic Boosters in Mayfield. Students got to enjoy donuts and juice and had a nice morning reflecting on how their positive attitudes have such a positive impact on our school community.
Our yearbook cover contest has been advertised and we are accepting entries until Friday, February 2nd. Information about the contest went out on Wednesday through Infinite Campus, and additional information and details are included in the newsletter below. Please note this contest is open to all students grades K-5.
Please continue to monitor the different events our PTG provides for our school community. There is a lot of information in the newsletter below, regarding activities and opportunities for our students and families. Moreover, thank you to our parent volunteers who have signed up for our Art Docent program. We are excited to get this program started and it would not be possible without your donated time.
Take Care,
Steff

This survey will be going out in the Lander newsletter this Friday as well, and hopefully we will get some great participation!
