Principal's Message
Happy Sunday Morning! There are a few things I want to share with you moving into the week and also as we prepare to end the month.
November 22, 2019 School Celebration: We will follow a modified day schedule as shared in your school calendar. This is a day of celebration before students head off for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Celebrations will start at 2:40pm-3:40pm and students will have an option to dance in the cafeteria, read and play board games in the media center, or play sports in the gymnasium. I need our teachers to help organize and supervise activities. Please let Ms. Appiah-McNulty know if you have a preference area to supervise. On Tuesday, students can begin to purchase tickets for the dance. Tickets are $5 for all students and discounted to $3 if there is acceptable Lexia and Imagine Math use.
Criteria For Discount

Staff Celebration Board Near Mailbox- Sometimes it is the little things that count. If you see your colleague doing something wonderful that should be celebrated, please fill out quick card to highlight them on the board. We are uplifted, when we uplift others. Take time this week to share a positive message about someone in the building. Cards and pens will be placed in an empty mailbox on the wall. Thanks for your positivity!
School Report Card Data- Take time to review how close we are to moving out of the "C" status. We just need to be intentional about lesson planning, implementing highly effective lessons, utilizing small group instructions, and checking and adjusting based on student data. Celebrate student successes in the classroom and if you need funds for support, see administration!
Upcoming Data Meeting- Please review the RMS Academic Reset Document. Teachers will need to come to the meeting prepared (this means questions are answered prior to the meeting and a copy is shared digitally to school administration a day before the meeting). You will need to make a copy of the document prior to writing on it (it is view only). Thanks!

Department Chair Member
Department Chair gives a brief description of the particular data to be discussed. Each member of the team shares parts of the data that catches their attention? Just the facts.
Answer the following questions prior to the meeting as it will be discussed. Please know your data and your students.
Data Questions
Responses
Part 1:
What does the data tell us? What does the data NOT tell us? What evidence do you have to support your statements?
Part 2:
What good news is there to celebrate? What indicators of success do we have when looking at our data?
Part 3:
What are the problems of practice suggested by the data (narrow focus on problems of practice)?
Part 4:
What are our key conclusions?
What recommendations does the team have for addressing the problems of practice? This is the action phase of the data analysis. The team formulates action plans to be followed at the next data meeting. Action plan will be recorded within the minutes to be added to the SIP.
Part 5: Thinking Beyond…
What will we do to move ALL students towards growth on ACT Aspire (collectively and individually)?
