Teaching is the Catalyst
Teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions.
-Unknown
This quote is extremely profound and something that I hadn't really considered. In our educational climate of testing, achievement, and college and career readiness, this is what it all comes down to: we create all other professions! What an incredible responsibility we have when one considers this. What we do on a daily basis can make or break countless potential professions. What happens when we put this in the context of our own children, nieces, nephews, children of our friends? Then, we transfer that to all of these other children we educate...is what we are doing good enough for them? I believe that it is. Personally, I can't think of anyone else that I would rather have creating our future professionals, for that, I thank you!

Little Shop of Countless Hours
Many components play a role in building the culture of a school, and activities play a major role in that. One such activity that involved over 50 of our students took place for two nights in the PHS auditorium. Mr. Smith and Mr. Allen put on the first musical, Little Shop of Horrors, at PHS in over 20 years. The musical saw over 650 people attend over both nights. Mr. Smith is seen in the photos prior to the performance on the first night providing direction for the actors and checking on the sound coming from the booth. The play was a success and saw the combined efforts of band, choir, and art students all come together with members of the community and students not enrolled in any of these classes to create a very memorable performance that has a lot of people talking. Thanks to these teachers for all of their hard work. For more information on this performance and what it took to put it all together talk to Mr. Smith or Mr. Allen.
