Rehearsals this Week

The calendar for the rehearsals is accurate. We will finish tonight at 9:00. Sorry if there was any confusion on the subject.


First Football Game

Friday, Aug. 30th 2013 at 7pm

War Memorial Field, Doylestown, PA

Doylestown, PA

Students, chaperones, and equipment crew should report to CB East at 4:45 on Friday, August 30. Pick up and drop off can be done from the student parking lot near the band room exterior entrance.

Concessions pre-game volunteers should meet with Paulette McAnulty at War Memorial Field at 4:30 PM.

All students have been instructed on the proper uniform items expected for a football game. If you have any questions about what your son or daughter may need for the game, please contact our uniform chairperson, Linda Kingsbury.

The band will perform the field show prior to kickoff (scheduled for 7:00), and parents should arrive around 6:30 to see the show. The band will remain at the entire game, and students can be picked up around 10:00 PM at CB East.

If you would like to help with the equipment crew but aren't signed up, please feel free to stop by and help out. This is especially helpful at the end of the night when the band is unloading and moving equipment into the band room.

First Day of School: Pep Band

Tuesday, Sep. 3rd 2013 at 6:45-7:15am

Members of the marching band who are enrolled at CB East (not current freshmen at Holicong or Tohickon MS) will meet at 6:45 AM on the first day of school to perform on the bus platform as students arrive. All students will be dismissed to allow adequate time to arrive at first block classes.


Cherrydale Farms

The Cherrydale Farms fundraiser is now well underway. Forms were sent home with the students at the end of the first week of band camp. All online orders and order forms must be submitted by September 9. Please check out the information posted on the website or contact chairperson Gwen Jackman for more information.


Advertisement Sales

Selling advertisements for our concert programs is one of the most profitable activities for our organization and your family. The band website contains information that will help you talk about our program with potential supporters and accept their advertising contributions.

In an effort to maintain good relationships with our supporters, we ask that you review the list of businesses who have agreed to advertise with our organization. A list was provided via email on Monday, August 26 by Kristie Vuocolo. Please stay tuned for updates to the list via email or on the sponsors page of our website.

Band Parent Association Meeting

Tuesday, Sep. 10th 2013 at 7:30-8:30pm

The Band Parent Association typically meets on the first Tuesday of every month. But in an attempt to minimize the chaos of the beginning of the year, we will push September's meeting back one week. In addition to discussing the business of organizing volunteers, fundraising, and trip planning, we will be presenting an introduction to competitions to help all new families understand these important events.


Car Wash Results

Thank you to everyone who volunteered at the car wash on Saturday, and to Kathy Ingoglia for helping to organize the event. It was a beautiful day, and the organization did well financially. We had 44 (well showered and soaped) students and 7 (miraculously dry) adults help raise about $2,000 in a few hours. Thank you to the families who generously donated over $170 in pizza from Pina's and another $160 for car wash supplies. We used every one of the towels, and there were 6 full bins donated. Great job everyone!


Peddler's Village Scarecrow Festival - Pumpkin Sales

Sunday, Sep. 22nd 2013 at 8am-1pm

Lahaska, PA

Last year this was developed into a very successful event. Peddler's Village teams up with a local farm who donated the pumpkins. The band sets up a decorating area and visiting children paint their pumpkins. All of the proceeds directly benefit the band. This is a fun morning for the students to volunteer! (These volunteer hours count toward NHS hours.) Please stay tuned for more specific information, but for now just add the date to your calendar and join us for a fun morning!


Nashville Trip

The Nashville trip will be upon us sooner than you might think. The final payments for the trip will be coming up. Please remember to contact our band parent association treasurer, Susan Roeder, if you would like to use money raised in your account toward the final trip payment.
