Mission Statement
Passport to Success! Look at what students are involved in...
We have 3rd and 4th grade tutoring groups that are meeting with our Academic coach or math tutors from UNT. There about 25 students that receive small group or one on one help every week.
Homework Club will continue to meet on Mondays until the first part of May and I can still take more students if you want to refer a student to get extra academic support. Mr. Phillips and one of CIS tutors offer their time to help students complete their homework.

Lunch with a Leader
The students meet as a group once a week also to talk about issues of self-esteem and character traits.
READING JUNCTION
My goal is to help with parent engagement and reading by placing materials and books together so they can spend some time together doing an activity and reading a book.
Celebrating Dr. Seuss
CIS also took the opportunity to give out Dr. Seuss books to first and second graders for this event. Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!!

F4K
We are serving about 89 students distributing snack bags every week for them to take home for the weekend. Please remember that you can refer a student by filling out the referral form. I have updated the distribution list and sent confirmation to teachers on students that are receiving F4K.
Thank you for referring your students!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Career Day
CIS is partnering with our counselors to bring Career Day to Peters Colony on May 26th.
We will be having guest speakers for the 5th grade students to give them inspiration on career opportunities that are possible to seek as they continue with their education.
We will have more information on our guests for this year.
Carolina Vidaurre-Cosenza / Communities in School Site Coordinator
I have 97 students enrolled in Communities in Schools. I would like to encourage teachers and staff to continue referring students to the program. The students and families can benefit from connections to services that are available to them in the community. The last day to enroll students in April 28th. Please help me achieve my goal to have 100 students in my case load. Thank you to all teachers that have worked with me to reach out to students and families!
