Future You

Future you! - The last couple of weeks, Mrs. Leiner has gone to all the classrooms to discuss the topic of "Future You!". At the elementary level, we really focusing on awareness of strengths and interests that may lead to a future option. Since we all change and grow, the message is that it's okay to think and dream about a lot of different interests. Students in grades 3 and 4 discussed how your interest can lead to further study in an area which may lead to a job or career for the future. These students looked through 2 websites that had videos and information that matched the interests they picked. In grades kindergarten through 2nd grade, we discuss again how their interest or passions can lead to their future at their developmental level. Indiana's department of education (DOE) has a website that is geared towards this type of future thinking which is titled Learn More Indiana. Below are the links to the websites. We encourage you to talk to your student about what they see in their future.

Snack Attack - Fishers Youth Assistance Program

NBE is pleased to announce the return of the Snack Attack program for those students in need. This program, supported by the Fishers Youth Assistance Program, is designed to provide students a little extra nourishment for the weekend until they can receive a hot meal at school on Monday.

Here's how the program works. Your student will pick up a small sack of food to be taken home over the weekend. The sack is filled with individually wrapped snacks such as granola bars, fruit cups, pop tarts, peanut butter/crackers, Goldfish crackers, etc. The type of snacks will vary each week. Please let us know if your child has a peanut allergy as he/she will receive a special bag of peanut-free snacks.

There is no cost to you or the school. This program is open to students that qualify for the reduced lunch program or have an increased need currently.

To be part of this free program, you must sign up your family online. https://forms.gle/xrKNaxRaLypSqKvV8
