Get to Know Mrs. Swinford, Ellis Elementary 1st Grade Teacher
Mrs. Swinford is new to the staff at Ellis this school year. She is originally from Conception Junction, MO, a small town just outside of Maryville, MO. She understands small town living because her school building held Pk-12 grade, with class sizes averaging eight students. Mrs. Swinford's graduating class was the largest the district had seen with eighteen students. She has two younger siblings, a sister, Sarah, and a brother, Matthew, who has special needs. This past November while finishing her student teaching, Mrs. Swinford and her family had some difficult days when her brother underwent his second open heart surgery to repair damage to his valve. Mrs. Swinford currently resides in Smithville, Missouri with her husband of ten years, David, and three children Connor (9), Case (7), and Anabella Rose (4).
Mrs. Swinford graduated from MWSU in December 2014 with a B.S.E. in EC education. This is her first full time teaching job. She is impressed by the support she has received as a new teacher and staff member by the administrators and staff. Welcome to CCR3, Mrs. Swinford!
