"Juuuust right!" These are the words we've been hearing in Kindergarten this week as the week was devoted entirely to the story of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." We used a Venn diagram to visualize what was the same and what was different about three versions of the story. We looked closely at the vocabulary words that we found in the story and then made our own bowls! We sampled porridge! We got so familiar with the story that we were able to act it out!
At math time we used dominoes and practiced using symbols to write and solve simple math sentences and we played a game using base 5.
As part of our social/emotional curriculum we talked about what we can do when we feel really, really upset or angry and how we can respond in a way that's constructive. We thought about the characteristics of our "best selves." This is an introduction to a set of skills we will be practicing for the remainder of the year.
Conversation Starters
