Egg Harbor Township High School
WEEK OF October 25, 2020
A Message From Our Principal
Greetings,
Well it’s happened!!!! The day we have all been waiting for! Students are back! It is so exciting to have the halls filled with students and teachers. I'm hopeful for the coming weeks. The A group came in on Tuesday and did a great job as they entered the building. The students were socially distanced and everyone had their mask on. On Thursday, despite the rain, our B group was in the house and ready to learn. In all it was a fabulous week! Check the video below from Dr. Gruccio’s Superintendents Report which shows our return.
Our teachers here at the High School continue to engage our students and help them in both worlds, the virtual and now the in-person. As we approach a presidential election, our very own Mr. Martirone continues to push for those eligible to vote, regardless of their party affiliation. Just get out and vote! Check out the Washington Post article below where Mr. Martirone brings EHT to print by being quoted! Thanks Mr. Martirone!
The athletic teams continue to be strong. Our Tennis team is undefeated and have EHT section finals against Mainland on Monday afternoon. We wish our lady Eagles The best as they travel into Mustang territory to fight for the title.
I would like to leave with the unveiling of our new Eagle Mascot. We call this Eagle “Mighty.” So proud of all who participated in making this happen, Our school store, the Ed Foundation and all the parents out there who drove kids around to find eggs!! WE had fun and thanks for all your help and support.
Have an awesome weekend! Until next week, stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Ms. Connor

MSA Students Hear From 2015 Graduates
Joseph Auble, an 2015 graduate of the EHTHS MSA, shared a video recording of a great, informative presentation for our senior students. Our students watched the video during their live Meet session today in Clinical Research and Observation Class. Mr. Auble is currently a student in the PA program (PAS) at Drexel University. He went over the program, how to become a PA, and what kind of experiences he had that helped him successfully get accepted into his dream career program.
Thank you Joseph Auble!!
Monica Headley, former EHTHS MSA graduate (2015), gave a virtual guest presentation to our current senior Clinical Research students today. Monica discussed her journey since high school at Stockton University and her decision to get a Nursing degree with a focus in psychotherapy. She explained how she changed from her original plan to be a PA, and reinforced to our students that it is okay to change plans when in school pursuing any degree/career. She provided tips on how to be a successful nursing student and verified the importance of the Medical Science Academy in her acceptance into Stockton and success/preparation for what she has faced so far in her post-secondary education.
Thank you Monica for sharing your experiences!
Mr. Martirone's lesson featured in Washington Post
A lesson that Mr. Martirone's students did concerning the Presidential Debates was featured today in the Washington Post with other teachers from around the nation.

GIRLS SOCCER
On Saturday, EHT Girls' Soccer battled friendly rivals Mainland for first place in the CAL Eastern Division. Mainland got on the scoreboard first early in the first half. About ten minutes later, senior Niki Danz struck an equalizer to knot the game at 1-1. The score would remain that way as both teams adjusted tactics, exchanged scoring chances, and defended with numbers. Ultimately, Mainland found the back of the net with just under 10 minutes to go in the game. A late goal while EHT pushed players forward in effort to tie the game sealed the victory for Mainland.
The Lady Eagles got back on track with a 10-0 win over neighboring Pleasantville on Tuesday. Jenna Green opened up the scoring in the 2nd minute while Maddie Eye and Gabriella Piantadosi had two each for EHT. Meghan Maul, Hayley Duncan, Angelina Horin, Jessica Molina, and Niki Danz each netted one as well. Samantha Oliver and Jailynn Mulhern split time in goal for EHT. The girls moved to 5-2 on the season.
