Dear GRE Families,
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, December 2nd. Before break we had our first Eagle Ed. Eagle Ed is a time where teachers choose something they are passionate about and share that with our students. Students get to sign up for a session that matches their interests as well. Sessions this time ranged from placemats to Harry Potter potions to holiday ornaments and everything in between! Students and staff had an awesome (sometimes very messy) time together!
It's hard to believe that we have just 13 student days before Winter Break. You will be receiving information about your child's progress through our Benchmark Letter and Grade Reports which will come home via your child's backpack on December 19th.
Let's have a great week!

Specials Spotlight: Physical Education with Mrs. Grieger
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
3rd and 4th grade finished Deck Tennis. This was fun to teach because students hadn't heard of this game before and they were all beginners. This game originated on the decks of ships, see if your child can remember what was used as a ring when it was invented and what we use now in PE classes. We learned how to throw and catch the ring, how to play a cooperative game and then ended playing a competitive round robin tournament. Each team came up with their own team names! That was fun to see what they came up with.
KG, 1st and 2nd grade started with traveling to different stations learning how to use a racket. Students focused on hitting targets while exploring with the racket. We then played a fun game using a variety of balls to practice serving. We ended with a super fun game based off the book 'The Three Little Pigs'. See if your student can tell you about the game!
