Calling all Madison Fun Run fans!

We are once again partnering with the Rotary Club of Wheaton and Wheaton Park District for their 7th Annual Fun run in Color on Saturday, April 18. The fun Run is an untimed 5k run/walk for all ages and abilities. All participants will receive a race shirt and a finisher's medal.

This year the race is offering Madison the opportunity to raise money back towards the PTA. For every individual registration that uses our unique Madison code, the participant will receive $5 off registration and Madison PTA will receive $5 back. The code must be entered at the time of registration. Use code MADISON20 to save your $5.

Registration is now open! Price increases after March 17, so what are you waiting for??

Thank you Winter Carnival volunteers!

Thanks to all those who came out for the Winter Carnival. We had another great event! A special thank you to the following volunteers: Amy and Jim Fiorato, Michele and Mark Cechini, Heather Button, Debbie McCraw, Debbe McCormac, Nicole Archer, Keri Widmer, Lanie Ligler, Ligita Jazerskas, Katie Armstrong, Julie Schulz, Andrew Smethalls, Holly Jacobson, Amy Angolkar, Alex Martinez, Kathryn and Leah Medanic, Sarah Perkins, Suzie Weber, Jenelle Kud, Kari Becker, Leah Benshoof, Katie Morris, Heather Graf, Michele Mowrer, Maggie Bragassi, Avani Bharadwa and Calvin Savitt. We couldn't do it without you and really appreciate you taking time out of your busy weekend!

Waste Free Wednesday!

March 18 will be a waste free lunch day. Help the Conservation Committee see if we can reduce the amount of waste at lunch! Students are trying to beat 39 lbs.

Tips include packing reusable containers, silverware, water bottles and napkins. Not only helps the planet but is easier on the budget when you reuse. Thanks for participating!

Thank you class party planners!

A big "thank you" to all the parents that were part of planning a class party during this school year! You made these parties fun, interesting and safe for our students through your creativity and planning. It's a lot of work to put these parties together and it takes all of the volunteers working together to make them happen. Thank you for your time and talents you shared with the students.

Save the date

The tentative date and time for the all-school photo is April 6 at 2:30 p.m., weather permitting. Please send your student to school in Madison Spirit Wear or in "Madison blue." Morning Kindergarten students are welcome to join as long as they are accompanied by a parent and sign in at the front desk.

Math Club volunteers needed

We are still looking for some additional parents to help with 3rd Grade Math Club. Unfortunately, we had to cancel 3rd grade Math Club in October because there were not enough parent volunteers to make it successful. If you are interested in helping with the upcoming months please email Jennifer Denson, jmsuth@yahoo.com. Third grade meetings are on Tuesdays and the dates for the remainder of the school year are Mar. 10 and Apr. 14. All meetings are during lunch from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Hope you can join us!

Your involvement in the PTA helps make Madison a wonderful place to learn and grow. We

have many committees that are looking for volunteers. If you have some time to give, please

consider signing up to volunteer. A description of our committees and volunteer sign-up is

Big picture

Save General Mills box tops and scan your receipt

General Mills is phasing out its clipped Box Tops, but some may still be found on products throughout the store. If you have Box Tops, send them into the LLC. If you've never been one to remember to clip and send in Box Tops but have a smart phone, just download the new Box Tops app, and scan your receipt to find participating products. The app will automatically credit Madison's earnings. Madison can earn ten cents for every General Mills box top scanned. The LLC has purchased many copies of award winning books. Let's continue the effort. Download the new app.
