Pleasant Street School News
building a community of learners that strive for excellence
News from Preschool! Why do we do all of this?!
Our preschool team not only provides high quality, varied, and enriched learning experiences for children but they also take time to consistently share information with families. To that end, our teachers send out a weekly newsletter, create thematic monthly videos, and maintain a preschool focused webpage. You might ask...how do they have time to do all of this?! Put simply, our teachers make time, often outside of school, to create these publications and media material to share with young families. We believe that creating positive and involved family partners in children's education will reap benefits that extend throughout a child's schooling. If families routinely read the newsletter with their preschool child and watch the monthly video together it provides a sense of connection to their child's school life. It invites conversation as your child can identify classmates pictured within videos or photos and can begin to talk about stories read, letters learned, and activities from his or her day. Building this relationship with your child about his or her school experiences creates an excellent foundation as children enter kindergarten and progress through the elementary grades and beyond.
