The Massachusetts Education Financing Authority (MEFA) will host a College Financing Seminar on Wednesday, November 2, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Somerset-Berkley Regional High School. Marching Band News

Members of the Case High Marching Band have been busy this fall. This past weekend, the group competed in New Britain, Conn., and later became the New England Champs at the NESBA Championship in Lawrence, Mass., receiving the distinguished honor of a Platinum Medal. The band returns to Connecticut this weekend before it leaves on November 11 to compete in the USBands, Division 1 Open National Championships at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Congratulations to all of our marching band students under the direction of Rick Cordeiro.

Case Theatre: Almost, Maine

On the heels of last weekend's tremendously successful Addams Family, the Case High Theatre Company will audition this week for its next production, the modern comedy Almost, Maine. Directed by Neil Jeronimo, the play will audition this Thursday, November 3, in the auditorium, beginning at 6 p.m.

The play's website describes it as follows: Welcome to Almost, Maine, a town that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States—it’s almost in Canada. And it almost doesn’t exist. Because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it’s just…Almost.

One cold, clear Friday night in the middle of winter, while the northern lights hover in the sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. And life for the people of Almost, Maine will never be the same. ALMOST, MAINE: It’s love. But not quite.

Almost, Maine is currently the most produced high school play in America at present, according to National Public Radio this past September. Ironically, the most produced high school musical is The Addams Family.

Performances are December 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m.
