π€ This Week's Learning
π Reading: We learned strategies for decoding tricky words, including using what's happening in the story and finding words we know inside bigger words.
βοΈ Writing: We learned about planning our writing.
π’ Math: We learned about picture graphs and bar graphs.
π Social Studies: We learned about rules and laws, leaders in our community, and solving problems with peaceful resolutions.
π Second Step: We learned about making mistakes and responding to them.
π±Technology: We learned about Greg Tang Math and Interland. Greg Tang Math is a great place to build number sense and fluency skills, and Interland is a fun place to play while learning about digital citizenship.
Second Step Lesson - Try At Home!
In this weekβs lesson, your child learned that mistakes tell us somethingβs not working and that they can respond to mistakes by asking for help, trying again, or making a small change to keep going.
Try This at Home:
Ask your child what a mistake tells them and what they can do to keep going after a mistake.
