Literacy Specialists Introduction!
Hello! We would like to introduce ourselves as the literacy specialists at Kirtland Elementary School. We are Gail Ribelli and Julie Bonacci, and collectively have 38 years of experience as educators! We recently completed a universal academic screener, Aimsweb Plus, with students K-3. Using this data, we will be providing targeted early literacy and reading assistance in either a push-in or pull-out model in areas such as phonics, fluency, word recognition, decoding, vocabulary, phonemic awareness, and comprehension. In contrast to years past, we will not be sending home permission slips, as these services will be fluid and flexible throughout the year according to students’ needs. It is a gift to be able to work with your children towards our unified goal of enabling all students to be readers! Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions! Our contact information is gail.ribelli@kirtlandschools.org, and julie.bonacci@kirtlandschools.org.
