Back To School Ideas
Teacher Challenge!
Welcome Back Teachers!
Welcome back to school! Pretty soon your classes will be filled with bright eyed, bushy tailed students. The best way to start the year off right is by building relationships with your students! It doesn't matter what grade you teach or what content area, students are not going to learn from someone they do not like. Take time to find out what they are interested in and how you can use their interests to make learning relevant and engaging. Check out the ideas below for how to use technology to get to know your students.
Teacher Challenge
Try one of these awesome ideas (or another one that involves technology) to get to know your students, share it with me and you will be entered to win a fabulous prize.
Flipping for FLIPGRID
Classroom Introduction with Flipgrid
Have your students create videos introducing themselves. You can also allow them to respond to their peers videos to build community.
Seesaw Activities
Create a class in Seesaw and use the premade activities to get to know your students. This is also a great way to start their digital portfolio that they can build on throughout the school year.
All About Me-Emoji Style
Use this activity template to have your students complete the All About Me activity using Emojis.
Describe My Selfie
Students can take a selfie and use the label and audio tool to tell you more about themselves. Make one for you as well that the students can look at to learn more about you!
My First Day of School
This activity is a basic template that students can use to tell about themselves and what their goals are for the school year.
Get to Know Your Teacher and Classroom Procedures
Teacher and Classroom Procedures Kahoot
Create a Kahoot game that quizzes the kids about you or even about the classroom rules and procedures. This is a fun way to go over things at the beginning of the year.
Classroom Tour
Video a tour of your classroom and highlight where specific things are turned in and accessed. This will provide a resource for students to ensure they are aware of what is happening in your class.
Back to School Stations
Instead of reading your syllabus or going over boring information, spice it up with back to school stations.
Combine tech with paper and make getting to know your classroom fun and engaging.
