Grandparent's Day- Sept. 13

Traditionally we have Grandparent's Week at HES. During this week we have invited all Grandparents to eat breakfast and shop with their grandchild at the book fair. Due to our new guidelines, unfortunately cannot host a Grandparents Week. The book fair date has also been pushed back to October.

As the building leader of HES, I wanted to thank each and every grandparent for the impact you have made on your grandchild. We appreciate each and every grandparent.

Tuesday Talks with Mrs. Burke and Mrs. Crabtree

Every Tuesday morning HES teachers receive a link to a virtual Tuesday Talk video (takes place of our in person assembly). In the video they'll see students working in their classrooms, special teachers in action, new announcements, a message from Nurse Colby, birthday announcements from Mrs. Crabtree, "Shine Bright" awards from Mrs. Burke, and more!

Below you will see our form we use to recognize students during the Tuesday Talks.

Highlandville/Spokane PTO Updates:

The first PTO meeting which will be held on September 8th @ 4:00 will the Facebook live. We are looking forward to virtually seeing and meeting everyone and getting volunteers signed up for our exciting school events coming up this year. We have our 1st Popcorn Friday coming up September 25th, so be on the lookout for the paper in your child's backpack in a couple weeks.

Spirit wear orders are due September 8th so don't forget to get your order in!! The gear is looking great!

HES PTO is off to a great start for the 2020-2021 school year! Thanks to all that were able to help with the playground improvements; the kiddos at Highlandville Elementary are enjoying a new four-square court, hop scotch, and other sidewalk art. The basketball court lines have been repainted, swings have been replaced, and other improvements are still in the works.

The Boohoo Yahoo Breakfast provided a chance to meet some new faces and was a success again this year.
