Message to Parents from Dr. Jeanette Ball
Dear Judson ISD Families,
Attention Judson HS & Wagner HS Seniors!
- The AlamoPROMISE program is only open to graduating seniors at participating high schools. Students must submit the Save Your Seat form by February 15, 2021. Students who do not submit the Save Your Seat form by February 15, 2021, will not be eligible for AlamoPROMISE.
- The Save Your Seat form is non-binding. Submitting the Save Your Seat form shows that you are interested in having your tuition and required fees covered as an AlamoPROMISE Scholar at the Alamo Colleges District.
- Only one form is needed to 'save your seat' at any of the five colleges of the Alamo Colleges District: San Antonio College, St. Philip's College, Palo Alto College, Northwest Vista College, and Northeast Lakeview College.
Judson ISD Receives EpiPen Grant for all Schools
The program, through a partnership between Mylan and BioRidge Pharma, makes it possible for qualifying schools to receive four free EpiPen® Auto-Injectors at no cost. Anaphylaxis, a severe and potentially life-threatening allergic reaction, can develop and progress quickly, especially among children and adolescents. Epipens can be lifesaving in these situations. Judson ISD is a proud recipient of this grant which provides a sense of safety and way to easily assist if a serious allergic reaction occurs.
As the marketer and distributor of EpiPen® Auto-Injector, Mylan is committed to improving access to this important treatment through this grant program. Head Nurse, Ursula Campbell, who leads many successful health initiatives for the district stated, "Thankfully we were able to receive 32 adult and 32 junior EpiPen kits. The cost of these kits are $456.00 a box. The grant helped save over $29,000 for our district." We are fortunate to receive this valuable resource at no cost and appreciate the work our nurses do to keep our students and staff healthy.

There is a great need for additional reliable substitute teachers to help in classrooms where our teachers are at home teaching remotely. If you or someone you know is willing and available to help as a substitute teacher, visit our Employment menu to complete the application. Other critical need areas include Adventure Club Aides, Special Education Aides, and Custodians.
Please feel free to contact 210-945-5101 if you have questions.
Judson ISD Community Education Online Learning Opportunities Now Available!
Board Appreciation Month
There are some great reasons to celebrate and thank the board members who serve Judson ISD. Serving as a locally elected board member means going through an election and making difficult decisions for the district, its employees, and its children. It means being available to hear from concerned parents in the grocery store, at the game, or over the backyard fence. It means committing to the time it takes to do the job right. And in Texas, there is no pay for school board members, and there are specific training requirements, creating further demands on their time. In short, why would anyone volunteer for this role?
Fortunately, in every community, caring adults have signed on for the responsibility and hard work of making our schools the best they can be. They immerse themselves in learning what they need to know to make good decisions that will provide for students, from the very youngest to the graduating senior. Trustees are public servants who generously work to benefit the most vulnerable members of each community.
Take a moment to recognize your local trustees. Take a moment to honor the work they are doing to help your students blast off into the future. Take a moment to say thank you for the work school board members are doing on our behalf.

Free/Reduced Lunch Applications: It Still Matters
The Judson ISD Child Nutrition Department wants you to know that even though all meals are no cost to students through the end of 2020, the Free/Reduced Price Meal applications are still critical…to you and your student because it’s about more than just food.
Did you know that this application also...
- Can provide discounted fees to register for AP tests (from $64 to $18)
- Help pay fees to participate in sports
- Can reduce costs of college applications (discounted or even no cost)
- Help you qualify for low-cost internet service
- Has a bearing on funding for school programs and services for students
The no-cost meal program will, at some point, end and we want to make sure that your child gets a nutritious meal without financial roadblocks. See if you qualify. Or, you can get going by filling out the Free/Reduced Meal application now.
These applications are accepted all year, but the earlier you apply, the sooner you can benefit from meals and discounts.
*Note: If your child attends a CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) designated school, you do not need to submit this application.
