COVID Update

Positive test results continue to be reported to the school office but have leveled off since last week. This can be attributed to our mitigation policies and the support we have received from everyone in the school community. The challenges that we are facing with COVID-19 have no rulebook to follow, every decision we make is for the overall general welfare of the school and the students. We are grateful for Father Brownholtz's support and guidance during this difficult time. Our number one priority to keep our students in school for in-person learning in a safe learning environment.

In all things,

Mr. Schrenk and Mr. Wild

  • Please continue to do health checks before coming to school each day.

  • Please report all positive cases on the day they are received.

  • Students with any symptoms should stay home from school.

  • Any students showing any symptoms will be sent home from school with testing recommended.

  • All mitigation protocols put in place last week will continue this week.

Returning Students:

Students returning from the 5-Day Covid quarantine will have to follow the guidelines for a Modified Quarantine. Students under this mitigation must remain masked at all times and eat lunch separately from unmasked students for another 5 days. The students may eat in the back of their classrooms or in a separate location.

3 in 5 Rule:

With the increase in positive cases continuing over the weekend we will begin to follow the Office of Catholic Education’s guidelines for shutting down a classroom or cohort. To keep it simple, it is the “3 in 5 Rule”. If there are 3 positive cases in 5 days, the classroom will be placed in quarantine and will move to virtual asynchronous and synchronous learning for 5 days.

If this happens:

  • Day One the instruction will be asynchronous with assignments placed on Google Classroom.

  • Day Two through Five will be virtual, synchronous instruction with direct instruction through Zoom.

Vaccination Status- in the coming weeks, we will begin to gather information about the vaccination status of our students. As the pandemic moves into the spring, vaccination status may make a difference when, and if, a class is quarantined under the "3 in 5 Rule".

CSW 2022

We have begun to plan a COVID safe Catholic Schools Week. It will be a week that celebrates our community, students, parents, and faculty. All of our CSW activities will be following the latest guidance for COVID mitigation. In order to be consistent with our COVID Mitigation Protocols there will be no Open House this year.

CSW Service Project

Once again we will be working with the Parish to collect items for the CODE BLUE SHELTER, a local homeless shelter. Each grade will be assigned items to donate. Information and details will be in next week's update.

Snow Days Repeat Message

With winter finally here, we have two snow days built into our calendar. If Pennsbury school district is closed due to inclement weather- we will close as well. There may be times that Pennsbury stays open, and we will close, if local conditions warrant. We will communicate closures using the Option C Communication system, both email and text. Please be sure your contact information is up to date.

Please know that if the Archdiocese closes its schools in the city of Philadelphia, that closure does not apply to St. Ignatius.

If we close early, there is no afterschool CARES.

If we open late, there is no before school CARES.

St. Ignatius Awards

Due to the Snow Day last Friday, the St. Ignatius Awards will be presented this Friday.
