Final Opportunity Week Schedule
Our Final Opportunity Week is June 14-17.
June 16 and 17 are early release days.
The last day of school is Tuesday, June 21. This is an early release day after all final opportunity periods occurred the week before. This is a school day where will provide a chance for students to access all of their teachers and work on any last targets or learning opportunities. The current plan is to have students go through an early release A Day schedule.
See screenshot below:
Leaving School Early this Week ( Opportunity Week)
We are asking our parents and guardians for help during our final opportunity week at Westview. We do not want to interrupt classrooms with last minutes calls for pass deliveries. We know many of our students use the entire period to work. If your student wants to leave class early upon completion of their test, a note must be provided by the parent. We will not be able able accept calls for early release.
For example: We ask that students not text their parent during class time when they finish asking them to call Attendance so they can get out early. If a student has a note, the note can be shown to the teacher and then the student will come to the attendance office to check out. Thank You!

Any Extra Guitars Out There?
Hello Westview Community.
We are excited about a new class we are offering next year for beginning guitar. Students who enrolled in the class must provide their own guitars. We are reaching out to our community to see if anyone would like to donate a useable guitar in good condition that might be in their closet or storage to provide access to our new class for students who may be not able to get a guitar. If you would like to donate a guitar for this purpose, please bring it to the Westview Main Office.
We thank you for your generosity.
Have you paid all your Fines & Fees at Westview?
This is so easy to do online. Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to pay those fines and fees from the comfort of home.

You can also stop by the Bookkeeping Office (Inside Attendance Office) to pay any fines and fees. Please come before school, during lunches, and after school hours to pay these fines and fees.
Too Sick For School Reminder
It's normal for children to get sick from time to time. But when should a parent keep a child home? Please visit the Washington County Health & Human Services Department School Exclusion webpage for guidance, rules and communicable disease facts.
Below are some guidelines to help you make the decision about when to keep your child home from school. The recommendations are based on the guidelines provided by the Communicable Disease Program of the Washington County Department of Health and Human Services. They were developed to help prevent the spread of potentially contagious disease.
- Fever: With fever greater than 100.4° F; student may return when fever-free for 24 hours (WITHOUT use of fever-reducing medicine).
- Vomiting/Diarrhea: Any unexplained vomiting episode. May return 48 hours after last episode. Diarrhea equals three or more unexplained episodes of watery or loose stools in 24 hours OR sudden onset of loose stools. May return 48 hours after last episode.
- Cough: Serious, sustained coughing, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing.
- Rash: Any new rash accompanied by a fever. May return after rash goes away or clearance given by a health care provider.
- Skin Lesions/Sores: Drainage from a sore that cannot be contained within a bandage OR sores are increasing in size OR new sores are developing day-to-day.
- Other: Symptoms that prevent the student from active participation in usual school activities OR student is requiring more care than school can safely provide.
Home is the best place for a child who is ill. If your child is sick with a diagnosed communicable disease, please notify the school as soon as possible. This notification will greatly assist others who, due to medical reasons and/or treatments, have weakened immune systems and may require immediate and specialized care.
Cell Phone Survey
We know that cell phones are a part of modern life and have a role in all of our lives. We are asking for the input of families in our community. Your responses will be taken into consideration as we review our school policies.

When to Keep Your Student Home Due to Illness
This attachment details instructions on symptoms and when we ask you to keep your students home and for how long:
Beaverton School District Antiracist Vision Statement
The BSD School Board unanimously voted to adopt an Antiracist Vision Statement. Informed by the work of the Beaverton Multicultural Educator Community (BMEC) and the 40-member Equitable Policies Task Force made up of students, family, community members and staff, the vision statement will guide our implementation of our Every Student Belongs Policy (ACB) and help ensure that our schools are safe and welcoming learning spaces for all.
Antiracist Vision Statement
Every student and employee has the right to learn and work in a safe and inclusive school environment that honors their race, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability and national origin.
Beaverton School District owns that our student outcomes currently point to our part in perpetuating institutional racism, and we commit to actions that address the current culture that is leading to these outcomes. Schools are critical in providing safe and creative opportunities for people to learn about different cultural and racial identities, have conversations about pressing issues and correct injustice wherever it exists. We commit to eliminating the structures, policies and practices that perpetuate inequities in our schools and in our community.
Beaverton School District will authentically engage each student, family and staff member to build connection, uplift understanding and truly value the diversity of our school communities. We will work to dismantle policies and systems that perpetuate institutional racism and barriers to education and other school-related activities. Students and families of color will see themselves represented in curriculum, materials, instruction, classrooms and all school activities in our district. Our district will honor, respect, represent, engage with and be accessible to students and adults from all communities.
Eliminating racism and all forms of bias is fundamental to our work — not just a part of our work. We commit to removing racism, white supremacy, hate speech and all forms of bigotry from our schools and communities.
Our district will:
- Seek and incorporate student, family, educator and administrator input in decision-making processes.
- Provide ongoing anti-bias and antiracist education to every staff member.
- Enforce Every Student Belongs procedures to prevent, interrupt and stop racist and biased incidents among students and between staff and students or community members.
- Create an inclusive learning community that honors, respects, represents, engages and is accessible to learners from all communities.
- Create permanent district funding and resources to promote equitable policies, structures and practices for BIPOC students and other marginalized groups.
- Implement policies, procedures and professional development to confront and eliminate conscious and unconscious racism and review these policies and procedures regularly to ensure we are meeting our commitments.
